Wood-digesting bacterial enzyme to boost biofuel production

Washington, June 10: Researchers have discovered a bacterial enzyme, which could help in extracting energy-rich sugars used to produce bioethanol from woody plants and inedible by-products of crops.

The study conducted by Universities of Warwick and British Columbia researchers, has uncovered the first wood-digesting enzyme found in bacteria to boost biofuel production.
