The Upside Down House – Poland

The Upside Down House is a project created by a Polish businessman and philanthropist named Daniel Czapiewski, and is located in Poland in the tiny village of Szymbark, and here are a few pics with this house. Rather than simply being a bizarre tourist attraction this house, managed to attract thousands of tourists. The house is also meant to be a profound statement about the Communist era and the state of the world.

Interesting concept! Maybe we should have our version of an “Upside Down House” to make a statement about our economic and political crisis.

The “Upside Down House” evokes a strange feeling – entry is through a roof window and visitors walk around on the ceilings. The interior is furnished in the style of socialist realism – there is a TV room and a dresser with crystal objects, a toilet from the 1970’s and propaganda of the time coming from the television.
